Raft is the creation of developers from Axolot and Redbeet Interactive. They came up with a brand new idea of a survival game. In Raft you are offered to play for 2 brave children to save their lives from hungry sharks and merciless ocean. Early access version Raft downloading is available for PC exclusively on Steam. You can download Raft on our "Get" page where we have gathered links to official sources.

Raft Gameplay: 5/5

The gameplay of this title is quite similar to any 1st person survival franchise, but it involves some unique mechanics and provides a very narrow location. The 2 kids were left alone on a wooden raft in the middle of the ocean. Your main objective is to keep them alive and healthy. At the same time, you have a lot of daily responsibilities, such as fixing and upgrading of the raft, fishing and hunting, and exploring the ocean to find new building materials. Beware of sharks! These mad creatures are able to destroy your raft, so it’s necessary to invent an effective weapon against them. Apart from waterfowl dangers, there are seagulls that may steal your small crops. Maybe, a scarecrow would be good protection … Raft is a game that requires inventiveness, pushfulness, hope, and patience.

Raft Graphics: 4/5

This new game doesn’t pretend to provide realistic next-gen graphics, but it looks good enough for a one of a kind indie project. Graphics of this game are based on popular Unity 3D engine by Valve. It means that the quality of image is quite similar to that in Portal 2 and CS:GO. The physical engine is quite realistic, so it is quite a challenging task to get through heavy storms. Graphics are quite compatible and you can download Raft for PC, PS4 and Xbox S.

Raft Sounds: 5/5

Music background in this game is quite repetitive, but actually pacifying and relaxing. It provides a feeling of being on a vacation somewhere in tropics. The rest of the soundscape is perfectly relevant too. The ocean sounds very surround and deep in different weather conditions. All objects have their individual sounds, so it’s quite easy to recognize what goes on out of sight.

Controls: 5/5

Keyboard-plus-mouse set is perfectly suitable for survival games like this. Navigation is very convenient with classic WASD plus mouse controls. Crafting and building buttons may be reassigned up to your needs and convenience.

Replay Value: 5/5

This game is greatly replayable due to the randomness of events. There’s absolutely no chance to predict what happens the next day. That’s why it’s exciting to play Raft in both single player and multiplayer modes. Loads of fun challenges are guaranteed! Hopefully, new updates will be big enough for one more Raft review.

In Conclusion

Raft survival RPG is only in early access, but it really deserves the attention of all survival fans. Such a unique setting provides many exciting mechanics and accidental events. Massive Raft updates come out for free almost every week, so it’s impossible to get bored!

  • Unique survival setting;
  • Exciting single player and multiplayer modes;
  • Frequent updates;
  • It’s very cheap.
  • Ordinary graphics;
  • Minor bugs and lags.
