Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a brand new exclusive action RPG game for Nintendo Switch. The game is a prequel to the 2021 remake of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The game has already received millions of favorable reviews and was downloaded over 6.5 million times. Let’s figure out what makes it so special.

Gameplay

The world of Pokemon Legends: Arceus is divided into 5 large biomes with unique nature and inhabited with unique Pokemon. You can spawn in a camp in any of the regions and free roam on your two or by using Pokemon to run fast, swim, fly, or climb the cliffs. All the Pokemon you meet on your way can be tamed but be ready that they all have different habits and may both try to run away from you or even kill you! In this regard, the gameplay feels quite similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild and Monster Hunter.

Graphics

Pokemon Legends: Arceus has wonderful anime-styled 3D visuals that are pretty similar to TLZ: Breath of the Wild. The landscapes of different biomes are highly detailed and don’t include any repetitive sectors so that you feel like traveling around real-world locations. You will also enjoy the high quality of the physics engine that makes all the movements and visual effects in the game feel natural.

Replayability

It’s quite obvious that you won’t want to play the whole game from the start once you gather all the Pokemon, but the initial path is super exciting and will hold your attention until the very last battle. The plot is unique and exciting enough to compete with any of the previous mainline Pokemon installments. The game was released with 242 Pokemon and developers keep adding new ones to keep you entertained even longer.

Pros:
  • There are over 242 Pokemon that live in 5 unique biomes;
  • You can travel around the world on different Pokemon;
  • The game features an array of great challenges that don’t become boring over time;
Cons:
  • The game is available only for Nintendo Switch and doesn’t feature multiplayer battles;
