Secret Neighbor: Hello Neighbor Multiplayer is a 2019 spin-off of the original story from tinyBuild Games. Its events unfold between the first and second acts of the initial game about a neighbor. By plot, your friend is trapped in the basement of a creepy house. Take on the aid of five more heroes, arm yourself with slingshots and bats, and save your mate from captivity. But be careful: a traitor may be among them.

Don't Wait for a Warm Welcome

As part of a group of six kids, you have to sneak into the house of a suspicious neighbor, explore each room and free your friend. Of course, all this does not please the main villain, and he will try to harm you in every possible way. Each player can choose one of six characters with unique skills, one of them is randomly assigned as an impostor. And if all the other children are to inspect the house and its surroundings searching for keys to the basement, he should catch them all and throw them out. In general, playing as a neighbor is quite an exciting process. You need to get into the trust of everyone, send the players down the wrong path so that they fall into your traps.

The neighbor disguises himself as one of the kids and can remove this mask at any time. It is the main difficulty of the game. On the one hand, you need to coordinate your actions with other users clearly and cooperate if necessary to inspect locations quickly. On the other hand, any child can turn out to be a traitor, so you cannot rely on others too much. Each round lasts 15 minutes. If you don't have time to find all the keys and free your friend, the creepy neighbor will win.

Technical Aspects

The game is currently available for PC on Steam and Xbox on Microsoft Store. Despite the rather high technical requirements, it was not without bugs: the characters sometimes fall under the stairs, boxes stick out of walls, etc. However, all this does not interfere with the gameplay and organically fits into the general atmosphere of a "nightmare." Like all games in the franchise, Secret Neighbor has a distinctive visual style that cannot be confused with anything. The neighbor's house really looks creepy due to distorted proportions and dynamic lighting.

For a full experience, you will need a high-quality and stable internet connection and a headset so that you can communicate with your teammates. The game does not have a local server, so your squad may include people from various countries and of different ages. You need to be prepared that their skills can be low. Of course, gaming sessions are more interesting if experienced users play with you.

Visiting the Neighbor

If you enjoy asymmetrical horror and stealth games, as well as teamwork, Secret Neighbor: Hello Neighbor Multiplayer is definitely worth a try. Even if the neighbor does not like guests, you can be sure that running around his house will not be boring!
