GTA 5 Next-Gen Update Might be Delayed

GTA 5 has enjoyed booming success at launch and continues to be incredibly popular due to its multiplayer mode. Its popularity was expected to grow even more after becoming available on next-gen consoles in March. However, according to a popular leaker, there has been a hitch in the development of this patch and it might be delayed.

This rumor has come from Matheusbr, a Brazilian leaker, who heard that the development process of the Expanded and Enhanced versions of the game was “complicated.” This means that there is a high chance that these versions of the game will be someone delayed. The delay won’t be too long, however. Worst case scenario is that we’ll see GTA 5 released on next-gen consoles in April or May.

There is no official information regarding this matter, so it’s hard to say how reliable is this information. In the past, we’ve seen similar rumors floating around regarding Graft Theft Auto 5 and they turned out to be false. Hopefully, Rockstar will soon make an official statement regarding the exact release date of the new versions of the game.

With that in mind, a delay by a month or two is also very plausible, since the release of Expanded and Enhanced versions has already been delayed before. It seems that Rockstar is not in too much hurry to make their game available on next-gen consoles and is taking their sweet time to make sure that everything is perfect.

Currently, Grand Theft Auto 5 can be played on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Hopefully, we’ll soon see it ported to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
